The Georgian Bay Photography Club will meet on Thursday, October 10th., 2019 in Collingwood at the Chartwell Georgian Traditions Retirement Residence (Theatre Room) at 57 Trott Blvd. starting at 6:30 pm.
Our guest speaker will be Marshall Postnikoff.( https://www.photographybymarshall.com ) A Collingwood-based photographer and visual opportunist whose subjects include Travel, Fine Art and Life Photography. He loves creativity and learning and thinks it's the combination of creativity, learning and photography that keeps his enthusiasm up each time to grab his camera to capture an image. Every time the shutter clicks is an opportunity for his imagination to connect with something in you. Please see attached poster.
Also during the meeting we will be going over some of those obscure definitions that may be heard within the club meetings at time, but no one knows what they stand for. You will know by the end of the meeting. If you have one you don’t know please ask at the meeting.
A quick introduction of the 2019-2020 Executive and a short explanation of their job will also be given.
The club is looking for someone to be in charge of the coffee for our meetings at Chartwell. Please offer your time to take on this position or we will have to cancel “coffee breaks”.
We will continue with Ernie McCay’s – “For Your Consideration” which will be presenting and commenting on a few of our members photos. Ernie could make use of a couple of more images (any image that you took at any time). These images need to be jpg and resized to 2000 pixels long side and sent to email@example.com. You can discuss the story behind the photo when on the big screen at the meeting or just look at your image in wonderment.
Membership fees were due in September. Please bring a cheque or cash to sign up. The cost this year will be $50 for individuals, $75 for couples and students are free. If dues are not paid by the November meeting, your membership privileges will be revoked. Please download the attachment and fill out both pages and return them with your cheque to the next meeting.
Remember you can “save the world” by bring your own coffee mug to the meeting instead of using those Styrofoam cups. Thanks. Don’t forget to pick up the 2019-2020 club program when it is available at the meeting.
Just a note for December 12th. meeting, we may have our “Christmas” meeting as a pot luck and possibly in the Collingwood area, but not Chartwell, so please keep it in mind.
