January Meeting - UPDATE

Our guest speaker has had to cancel due family matters. We hope to have him reschedule in the near future.

The Georgian Bay Photography Club will meet on Thursday, January 9th, 2020 in Collingwood at the Chartwell Georgian Traditions Retirement Residence (Theatre Room) at 57 Trott Blvd. starting at 6:30 pm.

Cat Davey will lead a workshop in February. In the January meeting she will explain what she will be doing for our February meeting and what members should bring to participate.

Cat Davey will give further information on Latow (http://latow.com/) Annual Photo Weekend with Kas Stone for April 18/19, 2020 (https://latowseminar.com/saturday-seminar-our-40th/).

Eric Sutton will inform members regarding upcoming Outings.

John McCallum will present a slideshow on his trip to Africa

We will continue with Ernie McCay’s – “For Your Consideration” which will be presenting and commenting on a few of our members photos. Ernie could make use of a couple of more images (any image that you took at any time).  These images need to be jpg and resized to 2000 pixels long side and sent to erniemccay@gmail.com. You can discuss the story behind the photo when on the big screen at the meeting or just look at your image in wonderment.

For Fun Assignment, you can submit a photo or photos, they must be sent to John McCallum (safemgt@sympatico.ca ) before the end of the month prior to the next meeting. Please send your photos in JPG format 2000 pixel maximum on the longest size. January’s theme is Inside Settings/Decorations (must show a group of furniture or decorations) - apartments - condos - houses – stores.

Richard Dewey will update members regarding the competition entry form - again.

Barb Martin will explain the upcoming competition Macro and Low Light. Also results of the Nature: Animals and Historic Connection competition will be presented.

A club library video will be shown.

Remember you can “save the world” by bring your own coffee mug to the meeting instead of using those Styrofoam cups. Please make sure that you pick up after yourself prior to leaving the theatre room. We must return the room the same way we found it. The meeting is free for all members and non-members pay $10 at the door.
